Sidbury Trek Donkeys are based in the pretty East Devon village of Sidbury, nestled in the hills of the glorious Sid Valley. The owner, Mandy, worked at the Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth for 17 years, gaining a vast amount of knowledge in donkey welfare and handling. Realising how much people love donkeys, and how much donkeys love to interact with people, she set up Sidbury Trek Donkeys to bring them together. Walking with donkeys is a great way to get to know these lovely animals.

Sidbury Trek Donkeys is only a small business, comprising Mandy and her three donkeys, Fred, George and Jack. The donkeys have been trained by Mandy, and are good natured, gentle animals. Fred and George originated from Wales and Jack from Ireland, all three now live a wonderful life in Sidbury.

We can take you out for a long or short walk along the lanes and bridle-paths of Sidbury and the surrounding area, taking in the beautiful views and Devon countryside. On your return to base, you can enjoy refreshments in the cosy little chalet nestled in the field, whilst watching the donkeys resting and grazing. Despite the 'No Feeding' policy, however, they may be more interested in your refreshments, and will come across and try to 'stare you out' into sharing yours!

For the not so energetic, we do a 'Meet and Greet' experience, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the donkeys (have a lot of cuddles perhaps) and do some grooming. Of course there will be plenty of photo opportunities too. Refreshments in the chalet are also included. This experience is available to under 15's, but all children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

We don't like to take life too seriously, but due to the nature of the activity and the terrain, the walking experience is available to adults (over 15's) only. You should be reasonably fit and able to tackle moderate hills and uneven surfaces, depending on the route taken. You should also understand that even the best behaved animals can be unpredictable at times.

All participants MUST wear sturdy shoes or boots (no flip-flops or open-toed sandals) and will be provided with gloves and High-Viz vests for safety whilst out on the walks.

Parking is only available on the grass verge opposite the entrance to the field. All vehicles are left at the owner's own risk. Directions will be provided on booking. All participants will be asked to sign a disclaimer, and all participation is subject to our Terms and Conditions. There are toilet and hand-washing facilities on site.
